Franco is one of Mobile Legends’ most iconic tanks, built entirely around a single signature tool: a chain hook that drags an enemy hero out of position and into his team. He’s less about soaking damage passively and more about actively creating kills, which makes him a favorite for players who enjoy playmaking rather than just standing in the front line. Landing a hook is often the difference between winning and losing a fight before it even properly starts.

Role and playstyle

Franco is played almost exclusively as a roamer, spending the laning phase setting up vision and looking for hook opportunities on the enemy carry or support rather than farming for himself. His hook is a skillshot with real range, and successfully landing it on an isolated target usually means that hero is getting focused down before they can react. The rest of his kit supports this hook-first identity — an area knock-up or stun that follows up on a successful hook, and passive tankiness that lets him survive the counter-engage he invites by walking into vision to line up his shot.

Strengths

Franco’s greatest strength is single-handedly creating kill opportunities that wouldn’t otherwise exist. A well-placed hook can turn a passive lane into an instant pick, and because it pulls the target into his own team rather than just damaging them, it removes their ability to disengage. This playmaking potential gives him a much higher impact ceiling than tanks who only provide passive frontline presence.

Weaknesses

The obvious risk is that Franco’s entire value is tied to a skillshot — missing his hook against a mobile or alert opponent leaves him with comparatively little else to offer in that exchange, and can put him out of position with no engage tool on cooldown. He’s also generally weaker in prolonged team fights where he isn’t getting isolated picks, since his kit is front-loaded around that one big engage moment rather than sustained fighting power.

Build direction

Franco’s itemization prioritizes tankiness and crowd-control-enabling items over damage, since his job is to survive long enough to set up hooks and follow-up engages rather than to deal significant damage himself. Early items typically focus on cooldown reduction and mana sustain to let him hook more often, while the core build shifts toward defensive stats that counter whatever damage type the enemy team leans into. Because his impact depends so heavily on positioning for hooks, items that support vision and mobility around the map are also worth prioritizing over pure stat sticks.
