Gloo is a tank built around one of the strangest core mechanics in Mobile Legends: a gelatinous creature who can attach himself directly to an enemy hero, following them wherever they go and dragging his team along for the ride. He’s less about raw stats and more about being a persistent, hard-to-shake nuisance who turns a single enemy into a walking beacon for his team to converge on. Players who enjoy zoning and disruption over straightforward damage tend to gravitate toward him.
Role and playstyle
Gloo is played as a tank, typically in the roam or exp lane, and his entire identity centers on his signature stick mechanic. Once he attaches himself to a target, he can later warp back to that enemy’s location, letting him or his teammates close distance on someone who thought they’d escaped safely. His ultimate hardens his slime body into a much tougher state that resists crowd control, making him difficult to lock down at the exact moment his team needs him to hold the front line or force an engagement. Rather than dealing heavy damage himself, Gloo’s job is to set up fights, deny escapes, and soak up punishment while his damage dealers do the finishing.
Strengths
Gloo’s biggest strength is denial. His ability to mark a target and reposition onto them later makes him one of the best heroes in the game for shutting down mobile or fragile heroes who rely on disengaging safely, since a Gloo attachment means they’re never truly out of reach. His hardened ultimate also gives him a window where he’s extremely difficult to burst down or control, letting him anchor fights even against heavy crowd control compositions.
Weaknesses
Gloo’s damage output is low compared to other tanks, and he can struggle to contribute much on his own if his team doesn’t capitalize on the openings he creates. His stick mechanic is also less useful in team fights that are already chaotic and clustered together, since its value comes from picking out and following one specific target rather than affecting a wide area. Enemies who play carefully and avoid overextending can largely neutralize what makes him dangerous.
Build direction
Gloo’s itemization follows standard tank logic, prioritizing durability and crowd control amplification over damage, with early items geared toward survivability in lane and later items chosen to counter whatever the enemy team’s biggest threats are. Because so much of his value comes from being present and hard to kill rather than dealing damage, a build that maximizes how long he can stay in a fight and how disruptive his presence is generally outperforms anything geared toward offense.
