Zhuxin is one of the newer additions to the Mobile Legends roster, a mysterious mage whose theme centers on a lantern and a swarm of ember-like spirit butterflies she commands in battle. She fits the classic mage archetype in terms of role, but her presentation — quiet, otherworldly, and tied to fire and spirit imagery — gives her a distinct identity among the game’s damage dealers, and she’s worth learning simply as a fresh face in the mage lineup.
Role and playstyle
Zhuxin is played as a mage, most commonly in the mid lane, where she farms with ranged spells and looks to convert her magic damage into kills once she has enough items and levels to threaten squishier heroes. Her kit revolves around her signature butterflies, which she summons and directs to harass enemies, zone them out of favorable positions, or add extra damage on top of her direct spells. As with most mages, her early game is about safe farming and poking from range, while her mid-to-late game is about finding the right moment to unleash her full combo on a priority target without overextending into the enemy’s own damage dealers.
Strengths
Zhuxin’s summoned butterflies give her a way to apply pressure and zone enemies out of an area even when she isn’t directly threatening them with a hard skillshot, which is a useful tool for controlling space in lane and around objectives. As a mage, she also benefits from the archetype’s usual strengths: strong burst potential once items come online, and the ability to threaten enemies from a safer range than melee heroes.
Weaknesses
Being a newer hero, Zhuxin asks players to learn her specific rhythm without the benefit of years of community familiarity that older mages have built up, and her general mage weaknesses still apply — limited mobility and low durability mean she’s vulnerable if enemy assassins or divers reach her before her team can peel. Like most mages, she needs positioning and awareness to avoid being caught out of position in a fight.
Build direction
Zhuxin’s itemization follows standard mage logic, prioritizing magic damage and cooldown reduction early to maximize how often she can apply pressure with her spells and butterflies, transitioning into a mix of burst and penetration items as the game progresses. Because mages in general are fragile, working in some magic defense or a defensive item slot is worth considering against enemy compositions with strong dive or burst potential, adjusted based on how much protection her team can otherwise provide.
